Charity city tour in aid of the 7Türme+ Foundation: Lübeck tour guides invite you to join a World Heritage tour

On Friday, 26 June 2026, Lübeck’s tour guides invite you to their traditional charity special tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town. The tour starts at 4 pm at the Holstentor. All proceeds from the event will go to the 7Türme+ Foundation, which is dedicated to the preservation of Lübeck’s five major Old Town churches and their distinctive towers.

Participants can look forward to a special tour format: divided into four groups, they will first spend 45 minutes exploring Lübeck’s historic old town, before spending a further 45 minutes getting to know a church of their choice in more detail. The choice includes Lübeck Cathedral, St. Jakobi, St. Marien (tower and vault only) and the Evangelical Reformed Church. The church tours will be personally led by the respective hosts and offer special insights into the history, architecture and significance of these places of worship.

The initiator of the charity event is Stephanie Ullrich, from the Lübecker Stadtführer e.V. association, who is delighted that this successful format is continuing:
“I am delighted that we once again have the opportunity this year to bring the fascinating history of our old town churches to life, whilst at the same time supporting their future. Anyone taking part in this tour will not only gain fascinating insights into Lübeck’s World Heritage Site, but will also help to preserve it for future generations. Participation costs €15, or €13 for concessions. When purchasing a ticket, please specify your preferred church. All proceeds go directly to the work of the 7Türme+ Foundation.

The 7Türme+ Foundation supports the long-term preservation of Lübeck’s inner-city churches: St. Aegidien, Lübeck Cathedral, St. Jakobi, St. Marien and St. Petri. The striking silhouette of their seven towers has shaped the cityscape for centuries and was a key reason for the inclusion of Lübeck’s Old Town on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987. In view of extensive renovation and conservation work, the churches are now more than ever in need of support.
