Hand-scooped chocolate from Lübeck: 7Türme+ to bite into

Angela Evers, renowned chocolatière from Lübeck, has donated 1000 euros from the sale of her handmade Sieben-Türme chocolate to the i.G. 7Türme+ foundation. Since summer 2023, a portion of the bars sold has gone directly to the good cause.

Most recently, the dedicated Lübeck resident donated more than 2,000 euros to the towers in the spring. Ralf Nagel, Project Manager of 7Türme+, was delighted with the donation and Angela Evers' pledge to continue supporting the foundation in the future with the sale of her chocolate. “Of course, the bars will have a new look in the 7Türme+ design,” explained Evers, who attaches particular importance to ensuring that her chocolate creations are also visually appealing.

Angela Evers is no ordinary chocolatier. Her passion for chocolate is deeply rooted. Her journey began in 2014 with competitions in German-speaking countries, which took her all the way to the runner-up position in the world championship. Today, she is one of the best chocolatiers in the world. “At some point, I stopped competing to have more time for chocolate,” says the 66-year-old.

Evers has now created 30 different types of chocolate in her factory in Lübeck's old town. Her latest creation, 7Türme+ chocolate, is available in three varieties: milk with 35% cocoa, dark with 55% and dark with 85%. The cocoa is fairly traded and the chocolates contain no palm fat or soy lecithin.

Each 100-gram bar costs €9.50, of which €2.50 of the proceeds are donated. “If my chocolate succeeds in making even a small contribution to the preservation of the old town churches, that would make me very happy,” says Evers, who looks out over St. Jakobi church from her garden and is deeply moved by the significance of the historic buildings. “If we want our beautiful churches to be preserved, we all have to do something about it. In this case, a sweet sin like chocolate is commendable, isn't it?” she asks with a smile.
