Art for a good cause: Auction in aid of the 7Türme+ Foundation

As part of the 53rd International Parliamentarians’ Football Tournament, which is taking place in Lübeck from 14 to 17 May, a special art auction was held on the evening of 15 May at Schuppen 9 in aid of the 7Türme+ Foundation. The item auctioned was the hand-signed colour lithograph “JOHN LENNON swinging London” by Armin Müeller-Stahl, published to mark the 25th anniversary of John Lennon’s death.

The work was donated by Frank Thomas Gaulin; Tim Klüssendorf, the organiser of the football tournament in Lübeck, acted as auctioneer. Starting at €400, the bids rose to €2,700 – and in the end, the sum was topped up to €3,000 for the good cause.

The proud new owner of the artwork is Emre Erdogan from EDGE Digital. Dr Jan-Verwey, chairman of the 7Türme+ Foundation, warmly congratulated the lucky bidder on his “genuine Mueller-Stahl” and thanked everyone involved for their generous support towards the preservation of Lübeck’s Seven Towers.
