NACH(t)SCHICHT: Working together to develop ideas for preserving Lübeck’s church towers

How can digital expertise support charitable projects? Answers to this question were provided by the NACH(t)SCHICHT event on 3 July in Lübeck. At the event organised by the Energiecluster Digitales Lübeck, creative agencies and charitable organisations spent an evening working together on specific challenges – pro bono, with a focused approach and with the aim of developing solutions that could be implemented straight away.

The 7Türme+ Foundation was represented with its own project brief and collaborated with the team from Edge Digital – Nadira Ahmadi, Edgar Paul-Ghazaryan, Emre Erdogan and Dominique Mowius. The focus was on developing a digital fundraising tool, using the restoration of St Mary’s Church in Lübeck as a case study. Within a few hours, a concept emerged that can be further developed immediately and put into practice.

It was particularly impressive to see how quickly a committed collaboration emerged across different perspectives and disciplines. Creativity, technical expertise and a shared interest in contributing to the preservation of Lübeck’s UNESCO World Heritage Site led to a compelling result. The collaboration with Edge Digital will therefore continue beyond the event.

The 7Türme+ Foundation would like to extend its sincere thanks to the Energiecluster Digitales Lübeck for organising the NACH(t)SCHICHT, as well as to all the agencies, organisations and supporters involved. Special thanks also go to Lübeck’s mayor, Jan Lindenau, who attended the event.

NACH(t)SCHICHT has impressively demonstrated how effectively social engagement and digital expertise can come together – and how a good idea can develop into a concrete contribution to the preservation of our cultural heritage.
